The AES 650 Cut-Off Timer protects against electronic surveillance gained through a TV or VCR. These appliances are vulnerable because they are still powered even when they are turned “off”. By manually turning the 650 Timer OFF, or by allowing the 6 hour timer to elapse, the device disconnects both sides of the AC input and the cable/antenna input. This assures that the TV and VCR are fully de-energized, and that all connections are cut to the outside world. In the Off position, the AES 650 helps to protect the TV and VCR from electrical transients and storms. The timer provides fail-safe operation: If you forget to turn off the AES 650 after using your TV/VCR, the timer automatically disconnects the device after the time you set, up to 6 hours.
